- I have been a school librarian for four years, and I LOVE my job. I am blessed to work in a small, rural school where our student population includes students aged preschool through 12th grades, and we all share one building! Our school library is unique because our school is unique. Our collection is very well-rounded and is separated and organized to serve our students. A school library should meet the needs of all students as they pass through the stages from early literacy into academia.
Our Reading Room
Students love to sit under this tree and read a great book. They can almost feel the shade as they relax and read from the park bench!
Why is it that when teachers send their classes to the library, so much excitement fills the air? A question I have pondered and one which makes my heart sing! I am so thankful that all my elementary students LOVE "Library Day"! I will never tire of hugs and squeezes from these wonderful little people who can't wait to find out what we are reading next! Have I mentioned that I love my job?
